MUSSELBURGH snooker star Ross Muir will be looking to
increase his lead at the top of the Scottish Under-21 Snooker Series rankings when he takes on Glasgow’s Dylan Craig in the final of Event 4 in Falkirk tomorrow.

The 17-year-old former Musselburgh Grammar School pupil has now left school in pursuit of his dream of landing a place on the Professional Tour and reached the final after defeating Rhys Clark 3-1 in the semi-final at the Creamery in Falkirk on Saturday. Craig reached the final after a 3-2
defeat of Edinburgh’s Lee Mein.

Muir has had to recover from a disappointing start to the season. After reaching the final of event 1, Muir forfeited the final against Clark after arriving late at after a mix-up with the start time. With Event 2 postponed, Event 3 saw Muir whitewash Craig 3-0 in the semi-finals before beating Clark 4-2 in the final.

Regardless of the result, Muir has guaranteed himself a place at The European Under-21 Championships in Serbia in March alongside Craig and Clark.

Midlothian professional Michael Leslie is also in action tomorrow. He cues up against England’s Ian Burns in the opening round of qualifying for the China Open, whilst Scott Donaldson takes on China’s Chen Zhe. The U21 Event 4 Final starts at 7.30pm tomorrow at Johnny Baikies Pool & Snooker Club in Falkirk.
